PROVIDER INITIATED TEST - The Catecholamines, Fractionated test measures individual catecholamine hormones—such as epinephrine, norepinephrine, and dopamine—in the blood. These hormones are produced by the adrenal glands and play a key role in regulating heart rate, blood pressure, and the body’s response to stress.
This test is most commonly used to help evaluate adrenal gland disorders, including rare tumors such as pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma. It may be ordered when symptoms such as persistent high blood pressure, headaches, palpitations, sweating, or anxiety episodes are present.
