174 - Male Extended Cancer Panel (6 tests)
Cancer Panel, Male Extended (PSA, Free & Total, CEA, CA 19-9, AFP, HCG
Male Extended Cancer Panel (6 Tests)
PROVIDER INITIATED TEST - The Male Extended Cancer Panel is a blood test that includes six tumor markers used to support the evaluation and monitoring of prostate, gastrointestinal, liver, and certain germ cell cancers. These tests are primarily used to assess treatment response, monitor disease progression, or detect recurrence in individuals with a known cancer diagnosis, rather than for routine cancer screening.
Because tumor marker levels may also be influenced by non-cancerous conditions, results are interpreted alongside clinical findings, imaging studies, and other diagnostic information.
The panel includes 6 tests:
PSA, Total: Measures overall prostate-specific antigen levels to help evaluate prostate health
PSA, Free: Assesses free PSA levels to provide additional insight when total PSA is elevated
CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen): Used to monitor several cancers, including colorectal and prostate
CA 19-9: Associated with gastrointestinal and pancreatic cancers
AFP (Alpha-Fetoprotein): Used in the evaluation of liver and certain germ cell tumors
β-hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin): May be elevated in certain germ cell tumors
